    Question Unanswered: Structures inside $ORACLE_HOME/bin

    Hi Experts,

I was looking content under $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory & found folder which were neither directory nor files. They are :
    oidldapd
    oracleO
    oracle
    dbsnmp

If you can help giving any hint about these structures.

    Thanks & Happy New Year.

you could google them all or actually look them up on the Oracle website.

This is not possible. They are either a directory or those entries are files. There is nothing "in between"

oidldapd: Oracle Internet Directory LDAP server type file

oracle0: copy of the executable "oracle" file (when recompiling the oracle executable using the relink command, the old copy is saved as oracle0)

    oracle: oracle executable file

dbsnmp: Intelligent Agent binary (used to monitor, configure and maintain remote database instances with the Oracle Enterprise Manager)

Well, perhaps you shouldn't limit Google to search only pages written in simplified Chinese.

my feelings exactly since the first search I tried in google had an exact hit.
It's pretty sad when someone can't even use google correctly.

Cut them a break. Everyone is a newbie at one time or another.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
