Question Unanswered: imp / exp on oracle 10g XE ( migration )

I have to import a dmp file (from 8i) into oracle xe, but I new to XE, on the option to manage data only I have from text, Wrsht, and XML, but my data is a dmp file.

Please could anyone tell me if XE still import data from a dmp file, and How to do it.

DMP is an Oracle proprietary binary file. It is generated by Oracle Export Utility, and can be loaded into the database using Oracle Import utility. In Oracle 10, we talk about Data Pump utilities which, basically, do the same as old export and import.

Before using Oracle, it might be useful to read documentation - not all of it, but some fundamentals. Here is a page which covers area that you are interested in: Importing, Exporting, Loading, and Unloading Data
