    Unanswered: Report Sorting

Ok, first off I must explain that I'm working on a database that someone else created years ago (and has since left the company). In this guy's vast wisdom, he decided to call a field in a table
    01 Change Order #

So now the boys upstairs tell me I have to upgrade the database to fit the company's new needs. I'm creating a report based off of a query off of the table this field is in (and just happens to be the primary key).

Long story short: I'm trying to sort the results in descending order for the report. I turned on the reports Order By On property, and set the Order By to be
    "[01 Change Order #] DESC"

But this doesn't do anything, the data still remains in ascending order. Any ideas?

What does the data in that field look like? Is it formatted text or number?

In the reports design view, click the sorting and grouping button, select the field, select direction...

That's the only/most reliable way of doing a sort in reports.

FYI: Ordering in the report trumps the order on the table/query every time ... So, when reporting, do establish a sort precedence to reflect the ordering desired ...
Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...
