    Unanswered: Select File for Embedded OLE object - No Sendkeys

    I currently have a function that allows a user to select a file (will usually be a Word Doc in the form of a letter), so that the user can mail merge the letter from within Access.

    When the user selects the file it is copied into an OLE object field within Access.

    Currently the only way I can open the "Select Object" dialog box is to use Sendkeys:

    SendKeys "%IO"
    SendKeys "{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}F"
    SendKeys "{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}B"
    This is a really inelegant way of doing it;

    So my questions are:

    1. Is there a better way of doing it? If so how do you do it?

    2. In my current method, two dialog boxes open. Ideally I'd like it to work using just the one "Select File" dialog box. Is this possible?

    See my attachment for my current solution.

    Thanks in advance.
