    Unanswered: db2profile question

    RH Linux. DB2 8.2

Our developers copying the 'db2profile' file in the /home/db2inst1/sqllib/ directory into /etc/profile.d/ directory as a 'db2profile.sh' (Notice the .sh at the end) to give access to everyone to use the DB2. What permissions copying this profile would give them ? Is this supported by IBM ?

    Thanks.

db2profile (with or without .sh) doesn't give any permissions to anyone; all it does is set some environment variables.

But it does allow the user run DB2 commands like "db2 list db directory" or "db2 connect to MYDATABASE" or "db2 list tables for schema myschema" ?. I don't know what else it does.........
