Title: Database Services Analyst
Location: Reston, VA

The Database Services Analyst role would be to facilitate the availability of database servers in the production environment. Perform some administration, import and export of data from external servers, automate DB and data jobs and do code enhancements. Implement and stick to DB standards defined and be an integral part of the production server management team.

• Hand-on experience of T-SQL programming skills.
• Successful candidate will spend at least 70% of work time developing structured T-SQL code with high-performance requirements
• Manage continuity and stability of production SQL Server databases
• Knowledge of stored procedures, analysis of search plans, and techniques to extract, transform and load data, for hundreds of files and layouts.
• Design, Develop, and Maintain ETL processes using SQL DTS, stored procedures and Job scheduler
• Design and implement reports and data analysis queries for internal operations and executive decision makers
• Proactively identify areas where efficiencies can be made through automation and produce metrics to represent system optimization
• T-SQL programming to support ongoing database development and ability to maintain proprietary T-SQL coding standards and documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering)
• At least two years professional experience
• Extensive experience with very large SQL databases using Microsoft SQL server.
• Requires a thorough knowledge of options and techniques for standardizing, copying and synchronizing multiple versions of large databases across many servers.
• Knowledge of relational databases and methods for efficiently retrieving data from them
• Exceptional understanding of the client-server concepts and related challenges. A flavor of web based client architecture would be a plus.
• Ability to handle jobs in parallel
