    db2 => "? sql444"
    DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it returned:
    SQL1024N A database connection does not exist. SQLSTATE=08003

    error

    you are in the db2 prompt - use regular os prompt and enter
    db2 "? sqlxxxx"

    The " is interpreted as SQL statement or DB2 command because you are already in the interactive DB2 CLP. In my usage above, the " is interpreted by the shell (command window on Windows). So you should either type my statement as written in the shell, or omit the " in the interactive DB2 CLP.
