Thumbs up Unanswered: [help] cannot import "11e0001" into a cell

Hello, I am trying to import a csv file into Excel.

One of my records has the ID: "11e0001"

However, when this is imported, it automatically gets converted to 1.10E+02.

I have no idea why, and I have no idea how to resolve it.

    Please advise.

Is that ID field supposed to be numeric? Excel is trying to import it
    as a number. 11e0001=1.10e+02=110

    Thumbs up

It's actually a TEXT. Even if it has a text qualifier (double quotes), it still converts it to a number, even though I don't want it too.

I can't even manually enter the value into the cell, because it causes the same problem!

When using the wizard to import the csv file, change the data type for that column to Text. That will override Excel's desire to make that a number column.
