I'm using java and jdbc to connect to mysql. Within my program, I access and search in a table with a semi-finit size. The problem is that my program as it is, is using way too much I/O and it's slowing the computer down for the main task. What I would like to do, is to open this table (but also have one version on the disk as a mirror, not being used for lookups) in pure Ram - to get rid of the exessive I/O reads and writes. This table is 70% used for lookups and 30% writes (also once in a while writes to the mirror on disk). Is there a way to do this? Or do I need to take some internal structure in Java for this task (any recommendations)?
