    Unanswered: Using PHP to show progress messages

    I was wondering if it is possible to display "progress" messages or an indicator of some sort when executing some SQL statements.

    For instance,
    PHP Code:
    echo '<html><body>';
    echo
    'Starting script.';
    echo
    '...';
    mysql_query("UPDATE blahblah SET blah=newblah");
    echo
    'Updated blah blah';
    mysql_query("UPDATE blahblah2 SET blah2=newblah2");
    echo
    'Updated blahblah2';
    ....
    echo
    '</body></html>'
    EDIT: Oh, I got this to work using flush(). I guess I wasn't using it correctly before. But is there another (better) way to do this?

    Thank you.

    ahh AJAX. i wasn't sure if that was something we could do, since we've kept most functionality of the app on server-side. i'll give it a look through.
