    Unanswered: Runstats Process

    Hi
    If i submit runstats shell script what db2 process will indicate runstats is running or not. I need to do ps -ef | grep for what. Please throw your inputs. Thanks your ideas are appreciated.

    This is not what you asked for, but try this:

    db2 LIST UTILITIES SHOW DETAIL

    When runstats is running I would like to know what db2 process to grep meaning ps -ef | grep <> Please throw your inputs. It is truely appreciated.

    You got to explain why you don't want to use LIST UTILITIES. That is much more portable and reliable (consider DB2 process model changes between V8 and V9).

    Anyway, I would assume that a db2agent executes RUNSTATS or other utilities. You can read up here on the DB2 processes for Version 8: http://www-128.ibm.com/developerwork...0304chong.html

    Note that this has changed in V9 because DB2 moved to threaded engine.
