Unanswered: Should I use cookies, or sessions?

    Hi everyone,

Situation: On form 1 I have a combobox/list that points to the stats of a player. On form 2 I have a few comboxes/lists that have the current stats of a player selected (for editing). On form 3 I process the changes/editing done by the user.

form 1's input of player id is provided for form 2,
form 2's input changes are provided for form 3

however form 3 needs to get the player id in form 2 that was provided by form 1

it is basically, passing data between forms that I need to perform

Question: Which way would I be better of doing these data transfers, with cookies or sessions?
Or is there another approach to this that I can't see

I would really appreciate some advice on this, thanks.

I recommend session variables. Using cookies or hidden form fields results in data being send back and forth between the browser and the server, slightly slowing everything down. By using a session, only the session cookie or session ID as part of the url, is sent back and forth, resulting in the quickest response for the visitor.

that's exactly the response i'm looking for... wrt system performance considerations.

using it now, and it seems to work well for my purpose.

    again, many thanks
