    Unanswered: fence id

    All-

    How do i know the fence id that is being used for a particular instance.

    My system has lot of ids with very similar names in /etc/passwd.

    change dir to ~/sqllib/ctrl

    issue an ls -ltra

    You should see a hidden file as follows. The id which owns it is the fenceid.

    -rw-rw-r-- 1 test2fnc testadmt2 9 Jul 27 2006 .fencedID

    In this case, test2fnc is the fenceid and testadmt2 is the fenceid group.

    Furthermore, there is a file ~/sqllib/adm/.fenced. The owner of that file is used by DB2 when fenced processes are started.
