    Question Unanswered: form does not update the field until i exit (was "Query")

    Please take a look at the images i have uploaded.

    QryEXT = SumOfExtendedPrice = Total Price

    Qry Clear = My attempt to reset QryEXT

    FrmOrder = MainForm

    I created QryEXT to help me find the total price of the order. I then used QryEXT as a form to be added on my main form. However, it does not update the field until i exit the application and re-open it.
    any ideas?

    Also the main problem i am experiencing is that I am unable to reset the QryEXT. As i process my second order (a totally new customer), QryEXT continues to add on the price from my previous order. Any ideas? how to reset the field?

    QryClear is my attempt to reset the fields. But instead of deleting the columns Quantity and ExtendedPrice in my Table Menu, it deletes the records.

    It is no use creating a button with:
    TotalPrice = TotalPrice * 0. To reset the field Total Price.
    As when i to calculate the total price for any particular order after the first order, it will always Add the previous order.

    Understand me?

    Please help if you can..

    Thanks in advance

    When do you want the query to be re-run?
    Place an afterupdate event where necessary

    In the event, you want to reference the query so you want something like Queries![QryEXT].requery

    *waits to be corrected on syntax*

    Gve it a play and come back if you are still stuck
