Unanswered: user defined function in Sybase

I am unable to create a user defined function in Sybase as it does not allow to return a value.

The following error message is displayed on trying to create the function:

A return statement with a return status may be only used in a SQL stored procedure.

    Help required urgently......

Yes, SQL user defined functions will only be available from ASE 15.0.2
ASE 15.0.2 will also merge all new 12.5.4 features into ASE 15 (e.g. archive database, etc).
It will also have security and encryption enhancements, statistical agrigates, performance enhancements, etc.
