Unanswered: Linking MS Access to DB2

I am trying to link a MS Access database to a DB2 database so I can use it to write quieires and reports of the DB2 database.

I link the tables through MS Access, however whenever I run a query it hits a problem with the password being disabled.

The database is set up to reject a user and password if it is incorrect 3 times.

The user and password are correct when I have linked the table and stored the password. I also tried it by not saving the password, yet the problem is the same.

I think it is MS Access that is storing the password or something like this.

Has anyone experienced similar problems and if so Id really appreciate the solution to the problem.

    many thanks,

DB2 does not store or handle passwords, they are handled by the operating system. The only other possiblity is that the password you are speaking of is handled by the application (not the database).

Please contact your database adminstrator and/or a system administrator for assistance.
