Unanswered: 'DYNAMIC RESULT SETS' Vs 'RESULT SETS'

What is the difference of using 'DYNAMIC RESULT SETS' Vs 'RESULT SETS' in a stored procedure?

I see example of stored procedures with both the clauses used. The document only speaks about 'DYNAMIC RESULT SETS'.

What is the impact / behaviour of using 'RESULT SETS'?

    Thanks in advance.

What version of DB2 and what OS are you using? I checked the documentation for both V8 and V9 of DB2 for LUW and there is only the "DYNAMIC RESULT SETS" clause, there is no clause with just "RESULT SETS".

In a V7 sp code I found the 'RESULT SETS' alone used. The same clause was used when the SP was migrated to V8.

Now, I see in the SQL Reference V7.2 PDF that it says the following:
"The value RESULT SETS may be used as a synonym for DYNAMIC
RESULT SETS for backwards and family compatibility."

What is the impact if only 'RESULT SETS' is used in V8 stored procedure also?

    TIA.

    Try it ;-)

If you do not get a syntax error, then there is not going to be any impact for now .. Migration to future versions might fail ...

"result sets" is a synonym for "dynamic result sets".
    There's no difference.
