Unanswered: Error while importing a database

    Hi
I am using the following command to perform an import on AIX:
db2=> restore database xyz from /db2_work taken at 20070213183229 into xyz with 2 buffers buffer 1024 redirect without rolling forward

I am getting the following error:
SQL2570N A database cannot be restored on a platform that does not match the platform on which the backup image was created

The backup is taken from db28.1fp11 and aix5.3 and restored on the same configuration. Pls. let me know some suggestions to get rid of this

    Thanks for all your help

I would run db2ckbkp to validate the backup image. Also, set DIAGLEVEL to 4 and see if there are any errors in db2diag.log

RESTORE should be used to restore a database and not to import data. Are you sure you are using the right command?

    Hi
Thanks for all the suggestions. When I use the db2ckbkp I am getting the following message:
[1] Buffers processed: #WARNING: Unable to decompress image from different platform.

    Any suggestions please

its because u r trying to restore image to a DB which is on a different platform(OS) .
Also check DBM level of both the machines
