    Unanswered: 117 GB Not Enough!!! Update Query 1 Field

    In running this query, I get an error that says there is not enough disk space to complete the Update.

    I have 117 GB of free space! Just how much will it need for 1 field in 409,655 records?

    Code:
    UPDATE tblSoCalMLS_Download SET tblSoCalMLS_Download.STREETNAME = UCase([P_OfficeName]);
    Thanks . . . Rick

    The space constraint is in the Access database file (max 2Gb). Are you updating data? Or the table structure? If it is data, the message I am familiar with allows you to continue you just won't be able to undo the changes.

    Also, you might want to try compacting first to delete any unused space.

    Yes, I get the same message that I can continue, however it doesn't perform the Update UCase.TblName.FieldName etc.

    I haven't tried compacting the data so I'll try that first.

    Thanks . . . Rick
