Question Unanswered: Restoring a 2005 DataBase into a 2000 Server

I would like to know if it is possible to make a backup of a database in a SQL Server 2005 server and restoring it in a SQL Server 2000 server.

    Thanks a lot in advanced.

No. You can use other methods to transfer the data and the schema, but 2000 will not restore a 2005 backup.
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.

And just to further clearify, you cannot attach a database to a SQL Server 2000 instance if it has been attaced on a SQL Server 2005 instance.

correct. that would mean that 2000 devs could predict the future, which they can't.

This, BTW, is a source of major disappointment and severe disillusionment to me.

Finally I understand why my lottery number database has failed so miserably.
