Presumably the reservation system will need to store data about the reservations... Therefore you need some form of database to record the information in.

What language are you coding the website in?
How many concurrent users will be accessing the reservation system at most?
What are the constraints of the project?

These are all questions that you will need to ask yourself to find a viable platform to proceed.

Example: If you have more than 5 or so concurrent users on the system, MSAccess is not the correct database choice.

im going to do the reservation system in java script, and the hotel already have database, so i think im going to connect it with their database.
but actually i dont know the steps that i have to follow to complete the reservation page successfuly!!
also i have to create a calender, so that people can choose the day they will come to hotel, and if its available or not. :s

The place I would go to start would be here.

JavaScript probably has a built in calender - just google for one.
And what is their database - Access, MYSql, MSDE, etc?
The way to connect to them differs.

    And JavaScript IS NOT Java

yes, javascript <> java, however jsp = java, and "java script" could mean "jsp script"

dear saasbs, is it too late to change your course selections? because you are gonna have a real hard time with this one

if the hotel already has database, then your only challenge is the jsp, yes?

i can tell you from experience that coding a calendar is ~not~ an easy assignment, and you do not want to try something that complex as your first foray into a new language

    POW!
I agree with Rudy, don't even try to create a calandar, especially with your seemingly low understanding of programming (I don't mean any offence).

Rudy, know of any ActiveX control calendars?

    just a few hints
what was the course that you are doing this assignment for about
    what was the unit titled
can you find out from students who attended the course what was covered in it
can you find out what reading material you were meant to be covering

.....the clue to the course requirements is often in the detail.

I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
