    Unanswered: Cant connect to ISQLPlus.

Howdy all. I successfully ran the start command in the terminal for ISQLPlus. But then when I try to open in the browser I get "The connection was refused when attempting to contact box.domainName:5560." I also tried connecting bt replacing the box name with "localHost", and have verified the correct port in the "portList.ini" file.

    Any ideas?

    TIA, ChrisR

Here is what we don't know:
    1) OS name & version for either/both DB server or client
    2) Oracle version to 4 decimal places
    3) EXACTLY what you did (as opposed to you describing what you think you did).

Did you completely & correctly follow the instructions found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe...s/isqlplus.htm
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.

    1) Red Hat Ent 4.
    2) 10g (not sure about the 4 decimal places)
    3) Not sure what you want here? I a: Clicked I SQL Plus in Enterprise Manager b: Tried to access right through the browser. I leave "normal" selected to connect as, hit continue, and then get the message I posted.

I didn't do this from the link you posted:

"3. Downloaded and unzipped isqlplus.zip to your working directory "

But I've never had to. ISQLPlus has always been fully functional without having to do this just from the install.

Something else I just noticed is that I can start it more than once in the terminal. Meaning I run the start command, get "success", and then I can immediately do it again.
Also, when I run the "stop" command for it in the terminal, it says "ISQLPlus instance on port 5560 is not running". These two things lead me to wonder if perhaps it's starting successfully, but then immediately dying/ being killed by something else.

    Thoughts?
