Type Full Time position

Note: We are not looking for a generic Java developer. We are looking for someone who enjoys and specializes in digital asset management and wants to pursue DAM for the long haul.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree
• Software developer experience as follows:
o At least 4 years in software development, with at least 2 of these focused on development of digital asset management systems
o At least 2 years client/server development experience
o At least 2 years with the following:
 Java/J2EE, JSP, XML, SQL, HTML/DHTML, and Web services
• Experience with Oracle, Solaris, and Linux
• Experience with Perl, JavaScript, Cold Fusion, ASP and COM/DCOM
• Experience with Stellent’s iDOC script a plus
• Successful experience developing and implementing digital asset management database schemas, table structures, metadata schemas and models, taxonomies, vocabulary terms, JSP customizations, and project workflows
• Experience with 3rd party software, digital media, and mobile content compatibility issues and file formats (e.g. QuickTime, iTunes, Podcasts, Cellular phone content, etc.)
• Experience with 3rd party content management systems such as Interwoven TeamSite
• Able to analyze problems, raise questions, and present a range of potential and creative solutions to other team members. Able to thoughtfully recommend more efficient and streamlined ways of developing and maintaining the current digital library applications, and able to think creatively and fluidly about development issues and bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to a discussion
• An understanding of internal and external security issues
• Understanding of cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility issues
• An open-minded, flexible, team approach to projects is mandatory

Responsibilities include:

 Participating in requirements gathering, determining high-level solutions, and authoring the technical components (use cases, functional and technical requirements) for the project
 Developing assigned areas of code following coding and design standards
 Creating and documenting the overall technical architecture used for a project
 Contributing estimates, advice, and progress reports to help in project planning
 Providing day2day project management of the development phase of projects
 Work closely with others in a project team to help advise designers and other creative people on the limitations or opportunities in the technology
 Developing prototypes to test particular approaches that have not been proven
 Testing all aspects of systems from the presentation layer to back-end systems
