    Unanswered: DB2 V9 Compression Question

Does DB2 v9 Compression feature apply only to data ? Will it compress the index size as well ?

If so, is there is any method to estimate the compression ratio for index based on the catalog statistics ?

The INSPECT command can be used to estimate table compression, but I haven't seen anything that indicates indexes can be compressed....

Index keys are not compressed, atleat in this release.
If you are on v8, and would like to analyze how your migration can save space, contact IBM. They can suppy a tool for estimation.

You are replying to a post that is over 2 years old. V9.7 came out just a few months ago.
