    he means don't. don't even start using ssis.

    i've managed to avoid DTS/SSIS for years - bcp.exe satisfies all my needs in that area so far.

    That's 100% true........... :-) Even I am used to of bcp.exe and avoid DTS. This is my 1st interaction with SSIS

    But my requirements will won't be resolved with BCP.exe

    I need to transfer the records of one table to another. And these tables are spead across different servers.

    No, I didn't mean don't use it any more than I would say "Don't fly in airplanes" or "Don't go sailing". All I meant was, be prepared to get sick and frustrated with it.

    I'm not certain that then follows that you require SSIS.

    I am delighted to say that I, so far, remain pig ignorant of SSIS. Why are bcp, linked servers etc not an option?
