The DBA will be responsible for full lifecycle database administration for all custom and COTS applications supporting an OLTP Enterprise environment using Oracle 9i on both Solaris and Windows servers. This position will be responsible for requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of the system design, system configuration and test results. The selected candidate must have a strong understanding of performance tuning for both application development and ongoing database maintenance on both development and production systems. Must have ability to work professionally and effectively in a team environment under tight deadlines and minimal supervision. The DBA should be well versed in various backup and recovery scenarios particularly RMAN, Export/Import, and Data Guard, Advanced Replication, Performance Tuning, UNIX Shell Scripting, Server Clustering. The ideal candidate should be able to develop shell scripts to perform routine automated tasks and have a background in Oracle Advanced Replication to administer a Multi-Master and Materialized view architecture.



The following are the Basic Qualifications for this position:


Bachelor's Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience (An additional 4 years of experience may be subsituted in lieu of degree)
Min. of 5 yrs of experience in Oracle DBA in Oracle 9i
Active TS Clearance and able to obtain an SCI with a DOE Q and a CI poly
Advanced PL/SQL skills

Oracle Enterprise Manager & Oracle Server Manager

Experience in the following areas is an asset:


A current DOE Q or TS/SSBI with SCI and CI poly
Experience with Oracle 10g including upgrades

Familiarity with Oracle Virtual Private Database (or Fine Grain Access Control)

Storage Area Networks (SAN)

UNIX/Windows administration

Reverse engineering of legacy databases

Oracle Heterogeneous Connectivity
