Question Unanswered: Append To a form

    Hi,
I have a one form based on table 1.

I have table 2 which is linked to an excel table. This gets updated regularly.

I then have a query which takes fields from table 2 and calculates their sum.

I would like to then append the sums from the query into the form from table 1.

This will then only fill out half the form and I will add in additional information to create a new record in table 1.

Hope that makes sense. I've played with the append query feature but can't get it to work!
    any help would be great!
    Thanks
    Sue

Ooh append queries, it's been a while since I've done one of those...
My suggestion would be to look at using an SQL INSERT statement (which is what an append query is ) via VBA.
    Here's a nice link for you http://www.w3schools.com/sql/sql_insert.asp
Have a go with that and let me know how you get on!

Ooh, before I forget, you want to use DoCmd.RunSQL in VBA to run your SQL statement!
