There may be several different reasons you could be getting that error. Could you be a bit more specific, and maybe tell us what the VB code is and what function the stored procedure you are looking to call has and what its' code is? We definitely need more information.

I told him the same thing yesterday in the VB forum. He just reposted the
question in a new thread there, and here also.

Yeah, I think I answered this in the "Other PC databases" thread... With an answer very similar to "More info please"

If you show us the source code in question, we'll be much more likely to be able to help.

Declarations, assignments, and the procedure call itself.

Plus, the database type, and at least the stored procedure header line, with parameter definitions.

Edit: Merged the cross-posts, and remove the duplicates.

    Hi,

This VB Application developed by our developer team,

Acctually we are developing Payroll Software using storeprocedure for generating salary with VB6 & MYSQL5.0 Database.

We are using one batch file which calls the store procedure script from the VB Application to generate. but that time am getting error "Invalid procedure call or argument" , I think its not taking the batch file from VB Application some times.

If we run the batch file from outside means not from VB Application its running fine and generating store procedure..

please check the attachment which I run the store procedure script from calling batch file to run the SP from VB Application

In the Batch File i had given mysql -u root -ppasswd dbname < spname.txt
    In spname.txt -> given as call generatesalary(); exit;

I will send more information after consulting our developer s team.

    Thanks

    I'm not downloading that.

You'll have to post the actual source or a sanitized version of it here.
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

as EVERYONE has asked, show us the VB code where you connect to the database, and call the stored procedure.
