Unanswered: timeout when accessing from asp script

i have an asp script that runs a stored procedure to backup my db

    i get an error

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e31'

    [Microsoft][SQL Native Client]Query timeout expired

if i run the sp directly in sql - it works -- where can i increase this timeout?

How long does your stored proc take to run when you run the sp "directly in sql"?
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

I would caution against increasing commandtimeout. If you feel that is the best solution, I would advise to at least set commandtimeout back to it's default after you've completed your long-running script.
