    Unanswered: ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [12803], [], [], [], [], [], [], []

    Hello all,
Iam running a test oracle 9i database on my windows xp. The oracle db was up and running when my PC went into standby mode and I can't bring the db up again. I get a ORA-0600 error . From Enterprise manager console, i can do a startup, mount but not open the database. How do I fix it? Please help.

    Thanks

    1) File a Service Request with Oracle.
    2) Post appropriate extract from alertSID.log file

Have you shutdown the PC to see if that would help? Also, configure your PC's power settings to never go into standby.

Yes, I did that. Still no use. One of the oracle files must be corrupt I presume. But I guess I can't go to metalink for any help as Iam just testing out the trial software on my PC.

did you look at the alert_orcl.log file, it will tell you exactly how it failed. Did you read the trace file c:\oracle\admin\orcl\udump\orcl_ora_3472.trc
it will also give information on the failure. Did you attemp to take the database through recovery?

This is what the alert log says (below). The excerpt I had before was from the 'trc' file. How do you take the database thru' recovery? Could you please point me to a step by step guide? I have to confess that Iam not a DBA.

    Thanks

All users (including SYSTEM) are unable to connect to SQL*PLUS and receive
ORA-600[12803]. The DBA is only able to connect internal from Server Manager
    or SQL*DBA.
