Question Unanswered: Try to Connect SQL Server

    Dear Sir,

When I read your posted message, I feel very happy. Because you had solution that I get now.

My problem: I want to synchronize data from my computer(Client) to SQL Server 2000, but i cannot do it as well.
    My ASP Coding:

    connStrWebServer = "Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=PersonalData;Initial Catalog=DB_11149;User ID=chan;Password=Road"

    Set ConnWebServer = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    Set rsWebServer = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
    ConnWebServer.Open ConnStrWebServer
    .
    .

And after run i got the error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server (0x80004005)
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

Could you help me? Or Could you send me your code that connect to SQL Server?

    Thanks in advance,
    Chamrong

    Possible causes are:
    1) User "Chan" has not been granted access priveleges to database "DB_11149".
    2) Incorrect password.
    3) No network connection between user and server.
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.

Is there a server named "PersonalData"? If this is actually an ODBC DSN, the syntax is DSN=PersonalData, if I recall correctly.

    Thanks

User name and Password is can be granted access privilege to this database properly. But I don't understand your third answer "No network connection between user and server", what does it mean? And how about my coding SQL Connection? Is it ok?

    Thanks for your reply,
    Chamrong

Yes, PersonalData is a server named, but i didn't use ODBC DSN. I used OleDbConnection. Could you send code about ODBC DSN or OLEDB for me?

    Thanks,
