    Unanswered: Unable to create function in Oracle

    Hi friends . new to this forum and to oracle. I was trying to create a function print which will be used instead of writing dbms_output.put_line. the function is created but displays error while calling.
    while i execute this

    it displays message B invalid identifier.

    tried to create same procedure by changing name as print is one of the key words in oracle but that too didnt work out

    here is the code..help appreciated .thnx in adavance

    create or replace function print (a varchar2)
    return varchar2
    as
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line (a);
    return a;
    end;
