    Unanswered: systabstats table

    Hi Folks,

Could you please suggest what is the best way to keep systabstats table in sync. sp_flushstats ?

I need to get the number of rows in tables without running selet count(*).
    Any other way.

    Thanks.

Run update table statistics as a cron everynight which will keep the stats updated for the table, so your rowcount will be more accurate.

I need to get the rowcount immediately after executing a BCP-in operation as a part of sanity check.

Update statistics will not work for.
Better options are checkpoint and all...

The only guaranteed way to get the rowcount after a bcp in is to run a select count(*) on the table.
