    Unanswered: STATSPACK Question

I was curious if I could (And if there would be any other considerationsto ) set up statspack to take a snapshot in the middle of a query) and grab a report of the disk i/o usage for that query only.

Mostly I'm interested in how long a specific query take to run and how much load the drive takes, in particularly precisely how long is spent retrieving the data into memory.

Is statspack the way to go about this?

IMO, while you may be able to obtain the statistics you desire using STASPACK,
a "better" way would be to enable SQL_TRACE only for the SQL under scrutiny & run the results thru TKPROF.
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.

For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
