    Unanswered: Windows/Linux

Are you using Windows on Linux - or Linux on Windows, and if so, which virtualization system are you using and for what purpose?

Linux on Windows makes no sense, SQL Server is not supported on Linux anyway.

The only virtualized SQL Servers I know of runs on VMWare ESX Server, which is "none of the above". Well, ESX uses a Linux kernel to boot itself, but then kicks it out when it has no more use of it.

Personally I tend to preffer physical servers over virtualization when it comes to resource intensive services as for instance databases.
