    Unanswered: START WITH..... CONNECT By clause

    Is there any equivalent for 'Oracles start with..connect by' clause in DB2

    For those of us who do not know oracle, it would be helpful if you tell us what it does. Also include which Db2 version and OS you are using.

    If I'm not mistaken, that is Oracle's approach to recursive queries. Google or browse Graeme Birchall's DB2 SQL Cookbook (http://mysite.verizon.net/Graeme_Birchall/id1.html) for DB2-specific examples.

    Serge Rielau wrote a nice article explaining how to port Oracle's CONNECT BY stuff to DB2 (which is standard-conforming).
