    Unanswered: Query help

    Hi,

I need some help with a query.
I have developed a few feedback forms for users to fill in, but need to link it to another database to get the name of a company.

I have created a field in the table for the feedback forms that is set to string, but in the other database it is an integer.
The idea was that the person searched for the company, if found it would insert the ID from the other database or would allow you to enter the company name.
This has caused a data type mismatch so I added an expression to convert the ID from the other database to a string to get the company names, this works but doesn't bring back the names entered by the user as well.

Is there any way I can get the both back in one query?

    Thanks

sounds like you are passing the int rather than the string. Double check which field it is that you are sending to your table.

After I posted I realised I don't actually need to do this in my query, D'OH

But I did manage to sort it out by putting the CStr() method around the WHERE clause parameter.
