I always have a little doubt in Oracle DB. It always seemed as if it is built on a very shaky foundation and have many problems.
I am currently working on 10g and well, it never fails to prove me right. I am running it on top of Windows XP SP 2.
First, I had problems when changing IP. The Enterprise Manager failed to work. After a tiring day of searching the internet I found out that I cannot change IP after installing ORACLE. How dumb.
The latest problem I am facing is that, I cannot start the iSQL*Plus service. I am quite positive that it is due to the reason that my PC is now installed with Java JDK version 1.6. Why is Oracle so damn dependant on the Java version anyway?
Does anyone have solution for this problem as it is really frustrating.
