SQL 2000 SP3

We have created a scheduled window in our Log Shipping job to allow MI reports to be run. (Not ideal I know, but at the moment our client does not have a separate MI database). At the end of this window we want Log Shipping to resume, but it is failing to do so due to existing user connections in the database being log shipped to.

There is a checkbox in the Log Shipping section of the Maintenance Plan properties (Initialise tab) entitled 'Terminate user connections' which we have ticked.

Does this only work when initialising Log Shipping for the first time?
If so, is there any way of killing user connections, other than running a SQL job just prior to when we want log shipping to resume?
