    Unanswered: Installing DB2 v8 fixpak 7

    O/S : Aix ver 5
    DB : DB2 UDB v8.2
I am trying to install db2 client on AIX , after the installation it shows as

    % db2level
    DB21085I Instance "db8inst1" uses "32" bits and DB2 code release "SQL08020"
    with level identifier "03010106".
    Informational tokens are "DB2 v8.1.1.64", "s040812", "U498350", and FixPak "7".
    Product is installed at "/usr/opt/db2_08_01".

    Whereas I wanted a 64 bit client.

    On Aix when I execute

    bootinfo -K I get as

    [root@xxxx] bootinfo -K
    64
    [root@xxxx] bootinfo -y
    64

What shld I be doing to get on to 64 bit DB2 client.

    Thank You,
    SB

Have a look at the "db2icrt" and the "db2iupdt" commands. If I remember correctly, both have an option "-w" with which you can set/change the bit-width to be used for your instance.
