    Unanswered: CDO email from Access

    Hi - I'm trying a simple email send using Access and CDO to my POP3 webmail site as an experiment. I'm getting back a server rejection msg - something to do with authentication. I've set up my Outlook to send/receive and my email client stressed that I should CLEAR the "My server requires authentication" box.

    So, anyone know of a workaround?? Thanks.

    Mike

    What code are you using to fire of the e-mail.
    Is it Access that sends the e-mail or is it the web front end?

    The code looks like this:

    Dim cdoConfig
    Dim msgOne

    Set cdoConfig = CreateObject("CDO.Configuration")
    With cdoConfig.Fields
    .Item(cdoSendUsingMethod) = cdoSendUsingPort
    .Item(cdoSMTPServerPort) = 25
    .Item(cdoSMTPServer) = "authsmtp.juno.com"
    .Item(cdoSendUserName) = "xxxxxxxx"
    .Item(cdoSendPassword) = "xxxxxxxx"
    .Update
    End With

    Set msgOne = CreateObject("CDO.Message")
    Set msgOne.Configuration = cdoConfig
    msgOne.To = "mike21152@yahoo.com"
    msgOne.From = "memelvin1@juno.com"
    msgOne.Subject = " CDO Test"
    msgOne.TextBody = "It works just fine"
    msgOne.Send

    I'm sending it from an Access button on my laptop. Trying to get it to send to my web email client - like Yahoo.

    I posted earlier about using Outlook, but I don't know about using a web-based email like yahoo, gmail, hotmail for it.
