    Unanswered: Db2 permissions

    RHL3.1 DB2V8.2

We need to create a linux account and give permissions to our support employee just enough to look at the jobs/backups ran on the server. How should I approach to this ?

Give him select on toolsdb and have him query the table ? If so, which tables ?

    Thanks.

Give the user SYSCTRL or SYSMAINT authorizations as the BACKUP DATABASE command requires:

Thanks..............What I was looking for how to give a user db2 access on linux and I figured that by adding:

    . /INSTANCEHOME/sqllib/db2profile

to the user's .profile file. What threw me off is that after I created the user .profile file was not automatically created. I had to create it.
