    Unanswered: Select query takes time

    hi,

I am using a select query. It takes long time to print in the records. the search condition was made on indexed field only. could u suggest some ways so that we could improve the fecth time.

    thanks in advance.

Impossible to say on the information given so far. Have you tried AUTOTRACE or EXPLAIN to see what is happening?

Did you use ORDER BY clause in your query? If so, it might be the reason it takes a long time to display the output.

BTW, listing 4E8 records will take a long time, no matter what you do.
