Unanswered: Why lock RS doesn't permit lock?

As the oracle doc says: RS lock allows S lock if they didn't lock the same rows.

But in oracle 10g I did the test
session 1elect * from test where 1=0 for update (didn't lock any rows)
session 2: Lock table test in share mode

the result is session2 is locked

Why shouldn't it be? There is a lock on a table! No matter no rows are affected - the transaction has begun and it owns that table structure until COMMIT or ROLLBACK is issued.
