Post Unanswered: Sending an e-mail when a form opens

    All,

I've seen this in other applications, but have not seen any guidance on it. I have a warning form that will automatically open from an Access program if a trailer is not picked up on time. When this warning form opens, I'd like to have the form send an e-mail out to certain people (we use Lotus Notes as our client and it should be open on the associates desktop) each time the form opens.

Is this possible and what path to get instructions on how to program this?

    Thanks to all!!!

Do a help search on the

    Docmd.SendObject

    method.

Then check out the On Open event of the form.

Nick, This works great to create the e-mail but does not send it. Can this be done thru commands or will the user have to hit the "send" button???

One of the arguments of SendObject determines whether it is sent or left open for the user to edit. More info in Help.
