Unanswered: Error says object doesn't exist

I have a database with a purchase order form and subform of the invoices received on that purchase order. I have a onclick on the invoice number and when clicked it is supposed to open the invoice form and show the invoice.
It used to work, but now I get
Error 2467:The Expression you entered refers to an object that is closed or doesn't exist.
The odd thing is, If I open the subform alone and click on the invoice number it works fine, but if I open the subform as part of the purchase order form, I get the error.

Both forms are open when I click it.

I have tried both of the following
    DoCmd.OpenForm "APInvoice", acNormal
    DoCmd.ApplyFilter , "APinvoicenumber=" & "'" & APInvoiceNumber & "'"
    'DoCmd.OpenForm "APInvoice", , , "[APinvoicenumber]=" & "'" & APInvoiceNumber & "'"

I assume that if you'd made modifications to your app just prior to this behavior appearing, you would have mentioed the fact! When something in Access works for a period of time, and then, without modifications being made, simply stops working, corruption is the first thing that comes to mind!
    Hope this helps!

The problem with making anything that fools are so darn ingenious!
