Question Unanswered: Differences in SQL Code used in Access vs direct SQL

Does anyone know if there's a good reference book that outlines the differences between the SQL syntax used in Access with ODBC drivers vs. direct SQL coding.

There's very little difference. There is little you do against JET that you do differently via ADO as oppossed to Access and most of that is DDL.
