    help designing an archive db

i need a little help designing my dvd job-archive db.

i have a folder structure that looks like this:
    0923 | 14975 | Layout, Links, Originals, PrintFiles, Proofs

the first 4 digit number is the name/number of the dvd.
the second 5 digit number represent the job (often many job-folders per dvd) and the next five folders is the content of the job-folder which in turn contain many different types of files like fonts, images etc...

how can i set this up in a professional way??

the main thing i want is to quickly search for a job-number and get the dvd-number where that job is backed up.

maybe i can do a more complex system so if i want a particular font i might also find all the jobs with that font and their dvds...

A DVD can have more than one job.

Can a job be associated with more than one DVD?
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.

    nope.
a job is only backed up on one dvd with a unique 4 digit number.
but there can be many jobs per dvd, depending on how much space they need, some jobs are bigger than others.

One DVD can have many jobs
One job can have ____ Layouts
One job can have ____ Links
One job can have ____ Originals
One job can have ____ PrintFiles
One job can have ____ Proofs

The pluralization suggests many, but it's always nice to be sure

a job folder can only have one of each sub folder but for instance the Layouts folder can have many indesign or quark documents and the PrintFiles folder can have many postscript files etc.
