Unanswered: first field to default answer in second field

In a Table, how do I get the entry in one field to default the entry in a second field?

Ex. type in a part number in one field to automatically input the product name in a second field.

    the answer is:

You don't want to do that!
    Your database model sounds flawed.

Let's go back a step; can you tell us your relevant table structures?
Please also identify the primary and foreign keys (if any) in each table.

    Example:
    Table - Users
    UserID (PK)
    FName
    LName
    George

    default value for 2nd field

I have student test score values that I also want to view as letter values.

    0-9 = N
    10-11=F
    12=G
    13-14=E

I want the person to be able to add the numeric value in one field and the letter field to fill in automatically.

I have reports that I need to run that use both the numeric and the letter values.

I can generate a report that displays that second (letter) field by using an IIF statement but I need to add the "letter" grades up by teacher. I need the total number of "N"'s for that teacher that her students scored. Without both fields in the original table, I can count the number of students per teacher. But how do I count the number of N's the students made in her class and attach it to that teacher without having an original field for those N's.

    TeacherName
    StudentName
    TestScoreValue
