Need Advice for an Auction Script

Hello everyone.. I hope i can get some help here.

I want to start an Online Auction(Ebay Style) with real-time bidding. I expect the site to eventually have a huge amount of traffic and volume.

Most Importantly.. I need advice on the Layout or Best Type of Script for this Auction to be able to handle High Volume.

How should this site be laid out?

Do you recommend CGI Scripting with Mysql?

I Looked at Ebay's Site.. and it looks like CGI? I notice when you browse pages... The searches show.. cgi.ebay... and then a dll...
Most importantly.. Security is the most important thing here.. so Which layout is the best and most flexible to make changes?

    Hope you can help..

    Welcome to the forums Jon!

To me, CGI means "Computer Generated Imagery" - but I don't think that's what you're on about, is it! Care to clarify?

This is a bit of an oxymoron; what layout is best for security?
I think you need to clarify your questions in your own head before posting them again!
